The Law of Alignment

We are now to the fourth law of Conscious Creation, The Law of Alignment which states: "Everything we think, say and do must be in alignment with what we want to manifest. When our beliefs and actions are out of alignment with truth, it creates pain and problems in our lives. The more closely our beliefs are aligned with truth, the greater power we have to manifest our creations with ease. (Limitless Booklet)"

Have you ever heard of 'cognitive dissonance' before? If you are like I was, you probably have no idea what that means. It means: "anxiety that results from simultaneously holding contradictory or otherwise incompatible attitudes, beliefs, or the like (dictionary.com)." In a simpler term it is the feeling of discomfort from holding two conflicting beliefs. When we have conflicting beliefs we feel that we have to change something to eliminate the dissonance. For example (these next examples come from The Conscious Creator book) "Suppose a person is torn by the desire to smoke and the fact that smoking is unhealthy. To eliminate the cognitive dissonance, he would have to align one with the other. In other words, either he'd have to tame his desire to smoke, and align that desire with his desire to be healthy, or he'd have to align his health beliefs with his desire to smoke by convincing himself that he can beat the odds or the smoking will be worth the cost." After reading that I immediately thought of places in my life where cognitive dissonance lives. I want to eat healthy but I like sweets. I want clear skin but I pick at it. I want to be patient but let little things bother me. Here are some more examples in The Conscious Creator that I want to reference, maybe you recognize some cognitive dissonance in your life too. "People say they want world peace, and then they get angry when they get cut off on the highway. Submitting to that anger gives their power away, because it's not aligned with their desire for peace. They say they want more money and prosperity, but then they envy and criticize their prosperous neighbors. they hold conflicting beliefs: On one hand, they think money is the root of all evil, but on the other hand they want more of it. They say they really want to read and learn more, then they spend all their spare time watching TV and lurking on Facebook. They say they want a healthy marriage, then they secretly indulge in pornography, their actions don't back up their supposed desire. What these people really mean is that they want their desires to materialize with minimal effort. They're not willing to pay the price. (The Conscious Creator)" The last line really hit me because I clearly haven't been willing to pay the price for the desires I want, and it has caused me to be out of alignment with myself. I have been annoying myself with my own actions. In order to align I am going to have to change my actions. I'll be honest, at times it feels daunting, never ending and VERY difficult to over come my natural desires to give in to habits that I have had for years. I can't do it all at once and I can't do it all by myself, but it can be done. I am working "to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong (Thomas S. Monson, Choices)."

The Law of Purpose comes before the Law of Alignment for a reason. We can not align ourselves if we don't have a purpose or vision of who we are or who we want to become, otherwise we'd be wandering with no destination (Similar to Alice asking the Cheshire cat which way to go. Since Alice didn't have a destination, it didn't matter much where she went). What is your purpose and vision? And how can you begin aligning? I need to work on solidifying my purpose and vision for myself so that I can become more aligned. I have to decide that I really want my purpose and vision and that I really want to fulfill it, only when I really commit will true alignment happen.

I have been reading a book by Gordon B. Hinckley called 'Standing for Something' (I highly recommend it!) In it he remembers a quote that his father used to tell him 'Cynics do not contribute, skeptics do not create, doubters do not achieve.' Further on Gordon B. Hinckley says 'We are creatures of our thinking. We can talk ourselves into defeat, or we can talk ourselves into victory.' It all takes work and conscious effort but we can overcome the areas of cognitive dissonance in our lives. 'Now ye may suppose that it is foolishness in me, but behold, I say unto you, that by small and simple means are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise." Alma 37:6

The Law of Choice and Accountability

The third Law of Conscious Creation is the Law of Choice and Accountability. It states 'We are solely responsible for the results in our lives. Regardless of outside influences or circumstances, we can always choose what we think and what we do, and we are accountable for the results that we create because of it. While we cannot always control what happens to us, we can choose how we perceive it, and how we respond. The more accountability we take for our reality the greater power we have to change it. (This comes from a Limitless booklet)." This can be hard one because it means that we can't have excuses or blame external circumstances for our attitude. We are solely responsible for how we respond to any given situation. It is a lot easier to blame others or circumstances for the way we act but the choice is ours. No one can control our thoughts. I have actually done a bit of research on this lately and hope to share a bit of what I have learned.

Viktor Frankl was a Jewish psychiatrist that spent three years in a concentration camp in the most inhuman and unimaginable circumstances. After his experience in the Nazi concentration camps he published 'Man's Search for Meaning' In it he asks: "Do the prisoners' reactions to the singular world of the concentration camp prove that man cannot escape the influence of his surroundings? Does man have no choice of action in the face of such circumstances?' He then answers his own question: "We can answer these question from experience as well as on principle. The experiences of camp life show that man does have a choice of action. There were enough examples, often of a heroic nature, which proved that apathy could be overcome, irritability suppressed. Man can preserve a vestige of spiritual freedom, of independence of mind, even in such terrible conditions of psychic and physical stress.
We who lived in the concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken away from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.
"

When I read that for the first time, it really hit me with impact and force, that way I act and the thoughts I think are mine! I really don't even know how to express my feelings on this.

I am a Christian and belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am going to discuss some scriptures that I have studied that have aided me in my learning of Choice and Accountability, and how that correlates with my divine purpose as a daughter of God. Because we have the the power to choose there is always two choices, in essence good and bad. In 2 Nephi 2: 16 it says: "Wherefore, the Lord God gave unto man that he could act for himself. Wherefore, man could not act for himself save it should be that he was enticed by the one or the other." Later in verse 27 it says:"Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself."  In Doctrine and Covenants 29: 39 it says "And it must need be that the devil should temp the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves' for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet." In Joshua 24:15 he makes the choice "that as for me and myself we will serve the Lord." Are we always going to make the right choice in every circumstance? No, we aren't. We are imperfect humans and prone to make mistakes. Christ can make up the difference that we lack and over time, line upon line (2 Nephi 28:30), by small and simple means(Alma 37:6, D&C 64:33), we have the power to learn and overcome our natural man. Through diligence, persistence, patience, long-suffering, and hard work we can learn and train ourselves to chose the way that is right. Is is going to be easy? No! but it will be worth it! Even in the latest General Conference, April 2016, Prophet Thomas S. Monson gave a talk called Choices and said: "May we maintain the courage to defy the consensus. May we ever choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong."

I feel that I have barely hit the surface on what I have been learning, I have read several talks on this, and a couple books. I have so much more to learn, but thus far it has been an interesting, fun, learning, and spiritual journey. If you have any comments, thoughts, or questions I would love to hear them! I am always learning and others perspectives are interesting to me.  If you want more information about 'Limitless' or would like to go to one let me know and I would love to talk to you!

The Law of Purpose

The second Law of Conscious Creation is The Law of Purpose. The Law of Purpose states "We all have our own unique purpose on this planet. Our desires and actions must be in alignment with our purpose and our sacred self to achieve our highest potential. Our sacred self embodies the highest, most accurate truth from which we can create at our greatest potential. Conscious Creators seek, know who they are and how to fulfill their purpose.(This direct quote comes from a booklet I got at the Limitless Seminar)."

God is a creator. In the beginning he created worlds, the plants, animals, and man. I have come to believe and realize that we have potential to create, we won't be able to create worlds in this lifetime but we can create to improve our welfare and the welfare of those around us through what we create. I believe that every person has a special reason that they are on the earth at this time. We each have a divine purpose to fulfill, we all have lives we need to touch and things to do to enrich and enlighten that are unique to us, no one can fill our spot.

The following is a quote from the book 'The Conscious Creator': "The Law of purpose states that for you to achieve your highest potential, your desires and actions must be manifestations of you True Self and True Purpose. You True Self is who you really are at your highest and deepest spiritual core, beyond ego, vice, and self-deception. The you who does things because they are right , regardless of consequence... who seeks lasting joy over fleeting pleasure... who thinks bigger than yourself and whats more than to simply elevate yourself in the eyes of others. It is your intuition whispering to you through the shouting crowds. Your True Self is your conscience; it give you satisfaction when you do right and distress when you stray off your right path.
Your True Purpose, then, is your True Self in action. It is manifested by the things that come naturally to you.... the things that make you lose all sense of time doing the,... the things you would do even if you never got paid a dime or if no one ever noticed... the things you can't not do, because they are so compelling and irresistible to you. It is who you were born to become. Your exclusive combination of passions, gifts, talents, values, knowledge, and curiosity all colliding into a diving focal point. A world-changing mission."

I know that is kind of a long quote but isn't it powerful?! With a kick start from what I have learned at Limitless I am finding my True Purpose and I am beginning to live it. Part of my True Purpose is motherhood and raising a family that stays close to the true principles God has given us, somehow including horticulture, and mentoring in there plus a few other things that I really enjoy (see I am still working on this :) ).

I have been working on an 'I Am' statement that when I get it done I will share it with you, who I am or am becoming. If you feel that you want to start finding your True Purpose and want help let me know! I am still learning but I would love to help the best I can, or help you find someone that would be able to help you better.  If you want more information about 'Limitless' or would like to go to one let me know and I would love to talk to you!

On a side note, in the book 'The Conscious Creator' there are only 6 Laws, but at 'Limitless' they added three more. The main six in the book are great, and help a lot! The other three seem like appendages to the main six but all still work in correlation. Stay tuned as I continue sharing about what I am learning!

The Law of Attraction

As you might be aware my husband and I recently went to a 'Limitless' Seminar and it changed our lives for the better to draw us closer to each other and to our God. During the seminar we learned about the nine Laws of Conscious Creation. I would like to take a little bit of time to talk about the first law of Conscious Creation. It is: The law of Attraction and the Law of Attraction states: 'Like attracts like. We attract into our lives the people, things, situations and experiences that match our deepest beliefs and thoughts. We attract into our lives what we think about most. Our dominant and persistent thoughts eventually manifest as physical reality.' There is real and true power in the thoughts that we think. As I analyze my life and consider what has happened I can see the true-ness (if that is a word ;-) ) of the Law of Attraction.

I have seen the Law of Attraction work not in my favor in the past and here are just a couple of examples:  I wanted to loose baby weight but I kept telling myself that I was fat.... I gained ten pounds. I frequently would tell myself that I am not a patient mother and what manifests? An impatient mother who allows little things to bother her. I would tell myself that I am not educated, pretty, or fun enough for people to like... Can you guess? I didn't have a lot of friends. All of these things were having a negative impact on my life they were affecting my role as a wife, mother, child of God and person of society in a negative way that was stunting my growth and development. It was really eye opening to start analyzing my thoughts.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: ' Sow a thought and you reap an act; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.' You become what you think about! In a book I just read (that was excellent!) called 'The Conscious Creator' he writes 'Your success is predicated more on what you think about and less on what you do, for what you do is determined by how you think.' I am making a conscious effort to have positive thoughts so that they will start manifesting in my life. Some that have already been manifesting are that I have lost 12 pounds. My husband and I have been able to connect on a deeper more meaningful level; And I feel that I am not as quick to impatience with my children (I still need more work here but by small means I shall defeat this struggle!).  I feel that this will always be a work in progress but I am excited to become good changing my thoughts for the better so that I can help others do the same.

During the day when I catch myself thinking negatively I replace it with something positive. I will always be learning more on the Law of Attraction and I am looking forward to share it with you! Albert Einstein said, 'The world we have created is a product of out thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.'

There some food for thought. These Laws work, they work better and faster when you use them in correspondence with each other! I will post more on the other eight Laws of Conscious Creation in a future post (unless you can't wait then let me know)! I have been learning SO much, it has been an adventure!  Limitless has changed my life to help me be more in line with my divine purpose. If you want more information or would like to go to one let me know and I would love to talk to you!

Belief Manifestation

I have been telling myself more negative things than I realized. Limitless and an awesome book called 'The Conscious Creator' have helped me find my common negative thoughts and than find positive ones to replace them. It really takes a conscious effort but I know if I am diligent in repeating these frequently (my goal is 3 times a day for 30 days). I will begin to believe them and my actions will follow my positive thoughts. Here are the belief manifestos I have for myself right now:

I have faith everything will work out just how it is supposed to, I will act calmly, trusting and being the example I know I need to be.

I devote the right amount of quality time to my children and following my bliss and I lovingly include them in my dreams.

I have and know how to find all the resources needed to follow my divine purpose and I act with faith and passion.

I see the best in myself.

I smile when I want to frown.

I am in control, I make good decisions that help me reach my goals. My spirit governs my body.

I am patient with my children, I give them my best self, teach them righteousness and enjoy each and every moment with them.

I patiently deal with whiny children and act in a way that positively teaches them.

I know I have the power and faith needed to follow and achieve my purpose.

I have faith in the positive thoughts I think.

After reading 'The Conscious Creator' I kept track of negative thoughts I was thinking. I then wrote positive belief manifestos to replace them with (you can probably tell a few of the things I struggle with... impatience, fear, comparing, ect..)  It is a work and progress and I won't be automatically better at these things in one day, but I believe over time I will conquer these things I struggle with and work on and add more. It is so interesting to really think about what you think about. I didn't think I was a negative person until I have started paying attention to my thoughts. Most of them were my perception of myself. I don't feel I am patient what manifests? Impatience. My fear keeps me from touching the lives I am meant to touch. Fear was manifesting fear. Comparing myself increases my fear in not being good enough, pretty enough, outgoing enough ect. and results in poor self image. I don't want those to be my over powering thoughts so I am making a conscious effort to change!

My challenge is for you to pay attention to how often you think negative thoughts and try and replace them with something positive and keeping doing it. If you want help I would love to help! We can learn and grow together!
