'One of a Kind Plant Design'

Well....

Over the summer it seemed important to me to be able to find something I could do as a mom, that I enjoy, and make money at it. I was stumped for the longest time on what I could do. I really love horticulture and plants but I had no idea what to do with plants that I could do as a mom too (yard work for a business kept coming to mind but with a 1 and 3 yr old that didn't seem feasible..). I thought and thought and racked my brain over and over to think of something that would bring in a little something extra. During the summer I worked at one of my friend's flower shop a few times and because of it I was able to come up with the idea of personalized funeral plants. My idea was to have living plants (like indoor plants) and in those plant arrangements, to have special things that represented the person who passed; like a fishing pond for the fisher or a beach themed one for the sea lover. It sounded so good in my head. Strangely, (I really think it is no coincidence) I was guided to a YouTuber called 'Garden Answer'. She was basically doing exactly what I wanted to do but she seemed better at it with more resources. I felt somewhat discouraged but also motivated that I could still do what I wanted to and succeed. I bought a bit of stuff and was excited to get going.

However....

The weather changed to fall and I wasn't able to find the plants I wanted, for the price I wanted, so the funeral part of my plant idea has kind of been put on hold. I had hoped to sell my creations to local flower shops.

In the mean time, my sister-in-law and I signed up for a booth in the 'All I want for Christmas Expo'. The Plan was for me to make baby booties to sell, but when the first pair took an hour, and were horrible,(and didn't even look the same) and were time consuming (and did I already say it took an hour for one pair) and I didn't enjoy it that much; I knew I needed to do something else. I decided that I would try my plant business there. It has metamorphosed into 'One of a Kind Plant Design'. I make one of a kind plant baskets (or pots or containers) with themes or special memorabilia. I make living or fake plant arrangements, for any occasion. Here are some examples of ones that I have made thus far:

8-15$ (or so ) 'One of a Kind' for your favorite basketball player

I actually plan of giving this to a friend because her whole kitchen is strawberry decorated but it shows what kind of things I am meaning as 'One of a Kind'. If I did sell it, maybe 5-10$

8-15$ (or so) a beautiful succulent for your favorite ice cream eater.

A nice beach themed basket. This was my favorite to make because I got to get creative. I just don't know if the interest is there for such things... I started with smaller containers mostly because I felt they would be more 'sell-able' but I would love suggestions! I don't know a price range on the basket... What would you pay for it?

I would love any feedback that you have or ideas (or wording) that would help my business do better. Would also love it if you had time to check out our FaceBook Page and let me know what you think!  I am in the early stages of gestation with this business and would love input if you think it is a good, sell-able idea (aka would you be interested in buying something like this from me and is the price right, too much? not enough?) or not so much.

I will be at the 'All I want for Christmas Expo' in Kingston Plaza December 2 and 3. I would love for you to come say hi even if my product idea doesn't interest you!

Seven Habits of Highly Effective Family -A couple of my take-aways

Have you been working on being deliberate? It is not easy. It takes effort, thought, and action.

I recently listened to tapes by Stephen Covey called 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families'. It was incredible! I would highly recommend it to everyone! Especially those with young families (although the information is good for anyone and everyone!) Some of the things he talked about I really needed reminded of.

We keep ourselves from our own happiness.
Our happiness is determined by ourselves. We have been given agency to choose for ourselves. Do you choose happiness? Or do you choose stress, tension, strain, and annoyance?

Are you living your life? Or are you being lived?
If you are living your life you are enjoying it, you are taking control and you are not allowing things to just 'happen' to you. You intentionally live the way you want to. For me that is interacting with my children, spouse, and family, and deepening my devotion to God. I want to live my life. I don't want to be lived by going through the motions and reacting to everything that happens to me. Start living the life you really want!

The things that matter most should never be put at the mercy of the things that matter least. I LOVE this one, probably because it is very applicable, because it is something that I struggle with. I am guilty of being on my phone more often than I should and when I do that I am sacrificing time, memories, and learning with my children. In all honesty, being on my phone matters least to me, but at times I seem to do it the most. That was really eye opening to me, that I am sacrificing what I really for what I really don't want. What things matter to you that are at the mercy of things that matter least?

Those are just a couple of the things that I really liked from those tapes (yes my car is old, yes I still have a cassette tape player, yes it still works, yes I use it frequently) (One time I was taking a Co-worker to get her car and she was very awed by the fact that I had a cassette tape player in my car that worked, and that I still used it.)

It takes effort to do these things, to live intentionally and deliberately. But it brings SO much more happiness! I have been incorporating what I have learned into my life and I am a changed person. I love my learning, growing, trying, and becoming better! I may be slow at transformation but I am transforming. Are you?

Deliberateness

At least three times every day take a moment and ask yourself what is really important. Have the wisdom and the courage to build your life around your answer. -Dr. Lee Jampolsky

Are you enjoying your moments you have? Do you enjoy your life? Are you in tune with the Holy Spirit? Do you love your God? Do you enjoy your family? And the relationships of close friends? What is really important to you? What do you want most in life?

Sometimes it is nice to remember what we really want in life. For me, it is a close knit family of righteous disciples, with kids who trust and ask questions of me. I want to engage in intelligent and understanding conversations with many. I want to participate in many wholesome recreational activities with my family and friends, such as biking, hiking, camping, cross country skiing and many more wholesome activities. I want my kids to have good memories of me helping them learn and grow. I imagine being able to be there for those who need my help and knowing the right ways to help them. I imagine creating beautiful oasis with nature for others to enjoy and also enjoying God's creations. I imagine always having food prepared for extra people at our table and feeding many. I imagine meal times being a joyful time to discuss things that are going on in life. I imagine having a close relationship with my Savior and Redeemer and happily being an example of the believers (and non-believers).

I have dreams.
I have a lot of dreams.
And I hope you do to. What are your dreams? What do you really want?

We have to be deliberate in reaching our goals. We have to spend time working to get there. We have to put energy into things that will take us there, and dispose of energy that isn't getting us to where we want to be.  Don't put your energy into things you don't want. Only put your energy into things that you do want.

I do want a righteous family and children.
I need to put energy into teaching my children the principles of righteousness and helping them understand the gospel. I need to happily fulfill my calling and be an example unto them.

I do want my kids to have good memories of me.
I need to do my best to enjoy moments with them and have that unconditional love that loves them regardless of the choice they make. Also, realizing that part of loving them is teaching them and properly disciplining them.

I do want to have an open house where people feel welcome to eat.
I need to learn to cook a variety of meals that taste good.

I do want a close relationship with my Savior and Redeemer.
I need to study my scriptures and His example and live like Him.

I do not want to be known as an in-attentive scroller that no one likes to really talk to because they are always on their phone or device.

If I don't want this I need to spend less time scrolling and more time on some of the items listed above.

I do not want to be so stressed that I don't enjoy my life.
I need to try different methods that help relive stress so that my panties aren't always in a wad.

Most of all I need to believe that I CAN that I have the power necessary to get where I want to be in life. No one can do it for me, and no one can do it for you. Only YOU CAN! Only you can take the the steps necessary to change yourself. If you are happy with yourself and the direction that you are going it makes it much easier to have desires to help others! One step at a time try to become deliberate in you life (this is a next phase in our Hands Free Journey but goes along great with what I have learned at Limitless) . Do things on purpose and mentally work on taking those negative thoughts out of your subconscious! It isn't easy work but it is worth it.

A while back I wrote a post about manifesto's that I was going to work on. There were ten positive thinking manifesto's that were mine and I was going to work on them. It didn't take me too long to figure out that ten was WAY to overwhelming. So bagged the ten and I went with one simple manifesto that I tell myself every time my subconscious pushes a negative thought my way and it is: 'I am thin, I am beautiful and I am in control.' I have been telling myself this every time I think that I am fat, ugly or out of control and over time it has made a HUGE difference in my life. I am fitting into my old clothes, I am more confident and I have more control over what I eat. I am not perfect at it but I keep trying and I have slowly improved in just the time of a few months. I even have felt that I can add another manifesto and it won't overwhelm me. So I have added 'I am a good wife and mother and I patiently teach my children values.' (The whole patient mother thing will take time but I am confident that if I keep trying I will make headway) I am just working on two manifesto's, and I had to work on one for sometime before I could add another one, but we can train our subconscious to work for us and not against us. Live Limitless! Live how your Creator designed you to live! Be Happy and find Joy in the Journey! I care about you and your progress and would love to hear how you are trying, learning and growing! We are in this thing called life together! Lets learn together and help each other out!

Humbled through Performing

What I learned performing. As many of you know I have been to a Limitless event. In these events they talk a lot about positive talk and affirmations that help us get the results that we want. My brother-in-law has been on a church mission and about a year ago his mom approached me with the idea of playing a duet together at his homecoming (which is where he reports some about his mission). I hadn't performed in front of an audience since high school. So I was looking forward to it and thought it would be a good experience. I had plenty of time to practice, and thought that if I knew my music good enough and kept up with the positive affirmations that I would ace it.The time came for us to play and there was like 70 family members there plus those that normally go to that church, which adds up to be A LOT of people and....  I really didn't remember the nerves that come to me with playing the piano in front of a TON of people. I tried every positive manifesto in the book but I struggled to calm my nerves. Somewhere in the back of my head was a memory:

I was ten or so maybe a little older and I had a piano recital coming up. My teacher was requiring us to memorize one of our pieces. The one I memorized was a jumpy staccato tune called 'The Ticking Clock' or something similar. The day of the recital arrived. It was in the library and thirty or so people were there. My nerves began to perspire on my face. I knew my song and had practiced, but as my turn came I wondered if I remembered any of it. By some miracle I made it through the first two lines of the song and then I just forgot. Simple as that. Mind Blank. I couldn't remember how the song went. My cheeks reddened in embarrassment and I was deeply humiliated.
This unfortunate memory has been at the back of my mind. That is not the last time I performed but it is a time that brings raw emotion when I think about it. I wanted to prove that I could play this duet with my mother-in -law well. I kept telling myself that I was good at the piano: that I had put in plenty of practice (I would say 12 hours minimum on that song alone) that I knew everything I needed to do to make it a success but...

I. Messed. Up.

It was pretty bad too, and at a simple part. I was so embarrassed! It wasn't just for me. I was embarrassed for messing up so bad with my mother-in-law and making her look bad too. I had imagined our song going so well and being very touching but I really messed it up. I was very discouraged and tempted to vow to never play the piano in front of an audience again. Why did that have to happen that way? Why did I mess up? Why didn't my positive thinking and manifesto's work? I have dwelt a lot on this event and really thought about it; and this is what I have learned.

 I. Was. Humbled. I really thought that I could do it. I was excited to do it well. I was excited to be congratulated and feel good about what I had done, and the work put forth. I wanted so bad for it to go well. I wanted to touch the audience with a stellar performance. We got through the song but it wasn't how I envisioned it.

I am human. You are human. We still make mistakes just like I did while playing the piano in front of a ton of family and church members. Part of me just wanted to leave that thorn in my side and tell people how horrible that I did, and how I ruined it all... Until my amazing eternal companion told me that it really wasn't that bad and with my mother-in-law playing too it wasn't too noticeable. He told me that it was good and I wasn't allowing anyone to thank me that it was good because I thought it went so horrible. He also pointed out that I messed up maybe a couple of times but I got the rest of the song right. I did well more than I did horrible and that was something worth thinking about.

So am I going to stop doing my positive manifestos because my piano performance didn't go as I planned? No, they greatly add value and happiness in to my life, and I believe in some way they did work. I could have really messed it up but I played more notes right (quite a few more, thankfully) than I did wrong ones. I learned that I am human and am not perfect and will have to find better ways to deal with my nerves in the future. It was a good learning experience to remember that large mistakes can still happen, but we can learn from them. I could have vowed not to perform again but instead I am going to keep trying (as daunting as it sounds right now...). And that is what our journey is all about, is to keep trying, moving forward, and learning. What mistakes are you learning from? How are you improving because of them?

I have written some blogs about the positive self talk and manifestos that are apart of the nine laws of conscious creation. To read about them click HERE!

Find a Few Minutes

Over the course of the last few days maybe you  have found time to write down the things that are distracting you from connecting from the ones that you love; things that are distracting you from the life you really want to live. Now that we have identified what some of these things are, we are going to start taking time throw out some junk (aka distracted time) that just really doesn't matter and replace it with things that do matter. 'This week, make an investment of time, attention, and love in your treasured relationship by temporarily ditching distraction and being fully present. Start by identifying sabotaging factors that prevent you from investing in what really matters. Ask yourself: what daily distractions prevent me from being fully present with the people I love? What actions can I take to reduce or eliminate one or more of theses distractions?
By identifying your distractions. you can become more aware of their potential to weaken your relationships. This heightened awareness will enable you to make different choices. It is helpful to note that making valuable investments in the lives of your loved ones does not require enormous amounts of time and effort. For example:
-I left my phone in the car and walked hand in hand to school with my child
    - I conversed with my child in the car on the way to practice
    - I put my phones in the closet after work and played a game with my family
-I made a snowman with my child
     - I let my child help with dinner (Hands Free Mama)

Find ten or fifteen minutes a day where you can put the phone (or other distraction) away and not let it distract you. Morning may be best when the sunshine is tickling across your window sill. Maybe in the late evening when the stars are beginning to gleam. Whenever it may be, find a time (even five minutes) where you can just be you, and be present. If you don't have family close, then take time to connect with yourself and who you really are, or take the time to ponder and think. Take time to discover your relationship with your Creator. Only you can do it. Only you can find 5-15 minutes that could be spent on something more wholesome.
A night a little while ago, I had tickled my adorable three year old as he went to bed. The energy in the house was high and a little tickle seemed just right for that night. The next night, however, he asked for a tickle again while in bed. I worried 'What if this excites him too much and he doesn't sleep? What if he asks for this every night...?' My tired worn self wanted to not tickle. Scrolling sounded more lazy and effortless, but in that moment I recognized that I am not always going to have these moments where my son wanted me to tickle him before bed (can you imagine a teenager asking for that? :) ). I was able to recognize that this really won't last forever and the tradition has generally stuck. He still will ask for tickles and I have learned a few things from this experience: that a little more laughter does me good, that is was good to see my toddler laughing so hard, that the tickling and hard laughing didn't really keep him up later or make him bounce off the walls. I found that I felt like a better mom when I let myself laugh with him as I tickled him. This is just one experience that I have had thus far with over coming distraction.
You can have these experiences too. And realistically they don't take that  much time. I really only tickle him for two or three minutes, and the fulfillment we both feel is very much worth that time. Find time to drop your distraction for a few minutes and find out what can happen! :)

Awareness (Part of our Hands Free Journey)

This post: Hands Free Journey explains what becoming 'Hands Free' means.

This first month of our Hands Free Journey starts with Awareness. Dale Carnegie said "One of the most tragic thing I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon--instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today." Too often the grass seems greener on the other side. Other people have angel children, perfect houses, ideal relationships, and are successfully thriving. Whereas, when we think about ourselves: our children never listen, our houses are complete disasters and we are merely surviving. Why are we living that way? There is nothing productive, uplifting or happy about comparing of what we perceive as their 'perfect' life with our perceived 'miserable/unhappy' life. Throughout this journey we are going to learn to be happy and how to find peace and joy in our surroundings and our life. I mean "...men are that they might have joy"-2 Nephi 2:27 It is not a sin to enjoy your life, and let go of some things in order to hold on to the things that will really matter in the future.

Start being aware of the ways that you are distracted from enjoying yourself and others. Is it your phone, computer, TV, tablet, video games, books, house work, work, pinterest, facebook, e-mail? It could be fear, stress, dislike of change, unhappiness of what we look like, excess weight we don't like or even acne ? These can fill our minds so constantly that we are distracted from those we love, and from the memories we want. The list could go on and on of what things or thoughts that are keeping you from loving your life and those in it. In the Hands Free Mama book she goes through a list of questions to ask yourself and I have written some of them here:

What you missed hearing the best part of your child's day because you were on the phone?
What if you missed the chance to console your worried spouse because of you mile-long to-do list?
What if you missed hearing an unknown childhood memory from your aging parent because you were too busy to call or visit?
What if you missed a divine cloud formation in the sky because you were racing to the bank, the post office, and the dry cleaner?
What if one day you realized that all the opportunities you missed couldn't be retrieved?
What if one day you realized the best moment in life come in the mundane, everyday moments? But you were only fully present on special occasions?
What if you turned away from distractions that monopolize your time and attention and grasped the sacred moments passing you by? (Hands Free Mama)

We only have one life to live. We shouldn't allow our time to be filled annoyed, stressed, worried, in anxiety, or panic.
 But we do.
We shouldn't be consumed in distress, dismay, apprehension, dread,  and fear.
But we do.
We shouldn't have strain, nervousness, and tension.
But we do.
We shouldn't spend our so much time scrolling, or in the virtual world.
But we do.
It happens all to easy and I am also a guilty party. That is why I am doing this journey, is because that is not how I want to live my life. I don't find enjoyment or fulfillment in those derogatory things, that sometimes I drown in.
Lets find peace, joy, fulfillment, happiness, and love.
Lets learn to enjoy our moments, our children, our relationships.
Lets create space and allow these virtuous things in our life.
Let connect with our Divine Creator and live the life and be the example we were meant to be.
Lets take what we learn and help and teach others to enjoy their life.
Lets make time and space to smile, smell the flowers and connect with the ones we love.
We are the only ones keeping ourselves from taking part in an excellent life.
 Lets change that!

Your challenge for this post is to write down what things distract you from really enjoying your life. Remember that is is often during the mundane moments, when we learn to smile and enjoy them, is when we will get the most fulfillment. These moments can become valuable contributions to our personal happiness, children's memory, and our marriage.
Things that currently distract me from the moments that will bring happiness to my life are: Facebook scrolling, Reading books, my laptop (pinterest, blogger posts, etc.), fear, inadequacy, and self doubt.

If you are struggling to find distractions, here are some things to think about from the 'Hands Free Mama'

Ways that you can find your distractions are:
-If it takes the focus off of what really matters (This may involve deciding what really matters to you and writing that down)
-If it prevents you from being fully present-If it keeps you from investing time and energy in those you love most
-If it hinders your ability to slow down, relax, or get adequate sleep
-Or if it holds you back from enjoying life, taking risks, and being your authentic self.

Find your distractions and write them down. If you feel inspired and directed I would love to hear from you! You can post a comment and letting others know what you struggle with which may help them!  Awareness of what is distracting us will help us overcome these addictions in the future!

Becoming Hands Free!

It is the first day of August and this month I am going to begin a 'Hands Free' journey. I have been following an author by the name of Rachel Macy Stafford. I loved her blog writings so much that I whimsically bought both books she has. The one that I have started is called "Hands Free Mama - A Guide to Putting Down the Phone, Burning the To-Do List and Letting go of Perfection to Grasp What Really Matters."

The book is set up to take a year to get through, the reader is to read and work on one chapter a month. I have read the first chapter and will share with you what I have learned in next posts.  I am inviting you to go on this journey with me! I will share what the chapter was about, and how I am working on it, and my progress on this journey.  In becoming Hand Free, my goal is find more joy in life, to not allow minor things stress me out from enjoying the good, I want to see the flowers and not the weeds, I want to treasure each and every moment I am given with my precious children and husband. I want to deepen my relationships with family and friends and meet new friends in which to connect with. I want to learn to be present with whomever I am with and not just there physically. I want to get rid of the things that distract me from living on life on purpose and keep me from living the life I want to live. Come on this journey with me if you find that you have similar desires or if you just feel you are too distracted and want to re-connect with yourself! Maybe you are drowning in a sea of media and news that has you down, discouraged, and lost! I hope that by applying the principles she teaches in this book we will ALL be able to grasp what really matters! I hope to have you along for the ride!

The Law of Connection

If you haven't read about the first Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post, they kind of go in order ;-)
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Purpose
The Law of Choice and Accountability

The Law of Alignment
The Law of Alignment Continued
The Law of Faith
The Law of Gestation
The Law of the Harvest

The Law of Intuition

The Law of Connection states:
"Our ego creates separation through comparison and competition, and our sacred self recognizes that we are all one. We cannot hurt another without hurting ourselves, we cannot bless another without blessing ourselves.
The shadow that we judge or the greatness we see in others is simply a reflection of aspects of ourselves. The more we live with unconditional love and acceptance for ourselves, the more we unconditionally love others. (The Limitless booklet)"
The Law of Connection isn't an easy one for me partially because I like my comfort zone and stepping out and connecting with others isn't something that I am a natural at. I am trying to work harder at it, but I am not very good at it. I have a lot of good examples around me that inspire me when it comes to this. One of my friends can pick up and talk to anyone she meets. She is always able to find a connection with them. My Mom and sister are also very good at connecting with people easily. At Limitless, with some of the activities they had us do I recognized how easy it can be to connect with complete strangers. It was powerful and eye opening to me, and I am  working on it.

One quote I heard recently went: 'There aren't any strangers, just friends I haven't met yet.' And I really liked that way of thinking. It helps me overcome my love of my comfort zone to get to know people. Big Dreams require a lot of people so allow people to be in you life. Don't be afraid to connect and learn from each other for that is how we learn and grow at a faster level is by learning from what others have already learned.

Part of this Law talks about the importance of unconditionally loving ourselves, then that love will be more easily given unconditionally to others (unconditional love is another area we could spend a lot of time on, and in the future I just might, I want to know what you think about some of the things I have learned when it comes to that... until then though.... read on ;-) ). One of the ways that we come to love ourselves is by incorporating all of the things that we have talked about; attracting good things by thinking good thoughts, knowing your purpose, living your purpose and consciously making that choice, aligning yourself with your purpose and having faith in that purpose, allowing time for that to happen, and knowing that if you sow good things, good things will follow, especially when we follow our intuition. These all work to build unconditional love and a happy conscious life.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading about the 9 Law of Conscious Creation. I have learned these Laws at a three day seminar I went to called Limitless and deeper in the book called 'The Conscious Creator'. Limitless was incredible and I am only able to share a small portion of what I learned and felt those three days. If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend going! I can even give you a ticket if you are interested!

The Law of Intuition

If you haven't read about the first Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post, they kind of go in order ;-)
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Purpose
The Law of Choice and Accountability

The Law of Alignment
The Law of Alignment Continued
The Law of Faith
The Law of Gestation
The Law of the Harvest

The Law of Intuition states 'We are infinite beings with access to limitless wisdom and insight. We can access this wisdom by listening through intuition to our sacred selves and to the divine.' I feel like this Law, The Law of Intuition kind of encompasses personal revelation or personal inspiration. Being children of God we are able to seek and receive personal revelation from Him. If we follow Him and seek His guidance He can help direct our course.

I have received personal revelation on different occasions for myself (One thing about personal revelation is that it is personal you can only get inspiration on what you can do). When I was younger, was prompted to go back to BYU-Idaho after I had already found a job in Utah. Going back to BYU-Idaho eventually led me to meet the phenomenal man that I am married to. I have been guided on what wording to use in talks for church. I have a new business idea that I am going to try from home and I feel that that came from revelation. God is there. He does hear. He does answer in His time.

One part of personal revelation that became hard for me seven or so years ago was when I was not getting an answer; to me it was a pretty big decision in my life and I felt I should be getting that revelation. It was difficult  until I learned or was reminded of our agency. God isn't going to tell us what to do in every circumstance. Even in big decisions he will let us choose. That is why we are here is to choose and to hopefully choose Him. Sometimes both decisions are good and it is up to us. If a path we choose is one that won't lead us in the right way, He will help guide us, giving us many things that just seem to 'happen' to point us where we need to be.

At Limitless they taught the Law of Intuition really well, how in many cases we know what to do, or what needs to be done by acting on inspiration. I was amazed that I just knew what I needed to do to help with the problem I was facing. As long as we are living righteously, God will be there to help guide and direct us, but he won't tell us every thing we are to do because '...it is not meet that [God] should command in all things for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant...(D&C 58:26)' Take time to listen to yourself, most of the time you have more answers and know more than you think you do!

Limitless is a three day seminar that teaches about the nine laws of conscious creation. What I have really liked about what I learned there, is how well it goes along with and enhances my life in my own Religion as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, my relationship with God is deeper than it has ever been and I am enjoying my life more than I ever have. It is incredible to have such freedom! If you would like to go, I can get you a free ticket and the next one is August 17-19 in Utah.

Law of the Harvest

If you haven't read about the first Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post, they kind of go in order ;-)

The next law that I want to focus on is the Law of the Harvest. This is one of my most favorite because I think I understand it the best. I love growing things, one of my loves is horticulture and planting, taking care of, and harvesting plants. The Law of the Harvest states ' Our life is like a garden. We reap what we sow. Every word we speak, every thought we think and every choice we make is a seed for creating our future. All results in our lives are the fruits that grow from our beliefs and the choices we make because of those beliefs. We can alter our results by altering the beliefs that bear them (Limitless Booklet).'

'What so ever a man soweth, that shall he also reap' (Galatians 6:7) This not only applies realistically, but physically and spiritually as well. Realistically if we sow a corn seed we are going to reap a corn plant' an apple seed will reap an apple tree. Figuratively it applies physically and spiritually as well. Physically if a person eats sugars, deep fried foods (junk food) and doesn't workout the person will reap poor physical health. Spiritually if we are sowing seed of hate, rebellion, gossip, animosity, pessimism, and negativity that is what we will reap. But if we sow seeds of love, kindness, charity, optimism, and positivity, we will reap those. You can't sow hate and reap love. That isn't how the Law of the Harvest works. You reap what you sow, so sow good 'seeds'!

I have learned about these Laws and how beneficial and helpful they are by attending a Limitless Seminar. I have a free ticket if anyone is interested in going. The next one is Aug 17-19 in Utah. HERE is their website if you want to browse it and look more into it.

The Law of Gestation

If you haven't read about the first Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post, they kind of go in order ;-)
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Purpose
The Law of Choice and Accountability

The Law of Alignment
The Law of Alignment Continued
The Law of Faith

The Law of Gestation States: "There is a natural gestation period for all acts of creation. Just like seeds that take time to grow before they yield fruit, our dreams and goals must be nurtured and cared for over time until they are manifested into reality. Patience and perseverance allow for dreams to become a reality.(Limitless Booklet)" I first learned about this Law at the Limitless Seminar. Izac and I just looked at each other and everything made sense. We are in a 'gestation period' of our dreams. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance to see them actually manifest.

There are different gestation periods for different animals. A mouses' gestation period is 19 days, a jaguar is 93 days, a human is 270 days, and an elephant gestates for 645 days! All 'gestation periods' are not the same, even with seeds, they all take different amounts of time to grow to full maturity. Think of a corn plant versus an olive tree. Dreams, passions, and visions can take time to ripen and develop. It can be very difficult to stick with it when it seems so far away but it will be worth it!

"The gestation period serves two purposes. First, it gives you the time to take the practical steps required to achieve the vision. And second, it proves that you'll pay the price.... If your dream is worth achieving, then you need the staying power to stick with it regardless of time or obstacles. Most people fail at great ideas because they want it all to happen now. They're not willing to pay the proper price for their dream. That's what separates successful creators from failures. With the right expectation, you can stick to the effort required to gestate and birth your creation.(The Conscious Creator)"

It is not easy to be patient in this world where everything comes quick and convenient. But the key is to have the faith, and patience to get through the gestation period! Reviewing your purpose often and making sure that you are aligned and have faith, (all of the previous laws) help a person to endure the sometimes difficult gestation period. That is why these Laws work together so well!

I learned a lot of this from the Limitless Seminar and the book The Conscious Creator. I am trying my best to apply and live by them! If you want more information or want to go to one of these seminars I would love to help you go! It has change me. I am more true to Joslyn and her role as wife and mother. I am finding more joy and less stress in my life through incorporating and living by these Laws. I know I have more to learn, but it just excites me to grow in this way! I have a divine purpose and a role that God wants me to fulfill and you do to!

The Law of Faith

If you haven't read about the first four Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post, they kind of go in order ;-)
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Purpose
The Law of Choice and Accountability

The Law of Alignment
The Law of Alignment Continued

The fifth Law of Conscious Creation, the Law of Faith, states: Faith is the foundation to all actions leading to creation. Without faith we have no power to act. As Conscious Creators, we work with complete faith to manifest our desires. We act on that faith with courage, without requiring evidence from our past (Limitless Booklet). "Conscious Creators understand that they have the power to manifest anything in which they have complete faith. I define 'faith' as a complete trust or confidence in any belief or truth. Note that faith can work either for or against you. People who believe they are fat and put faith in that belief will develop conscious and unconscious behaviors that will surely manifest fatness. Whatever you put your faith in can manifest. Therefore, Conscious Creators are vigilant about what they choose to put their faith in.(The Conscious Creator)"

The secret with the Law of Faith is more than just thinking that you will obtain your goals, it is believing with unwavering faith that you will achieve them way before you actually do. Many who don't believe in faith are found saying the adage 'I'll believe it when I see it;' Conscious Creator's on the other hand think 'I'll see it when I believe it'. Part of acting on faith is that you do it despite the lack of evidence.  This Law requires commitment, that you won't back out when you hit a rough patch, that you will stick with it even when surrounding voices tell you that you can't; that you see your vision and have faith to conquer and get there. Sometimes when you follow your bliss, your passion, or your purpose 'people will tell you that you are crazy. But that's precisely why visionary, committed entrepreneurs are compensated so highly: They see things that others can't see and take the leap of faith (The Conscious Creator)." Think of Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, and the Wright Brothers to name just a few. Faith in our dreams can be difficult, especially when those around us are doubters, and when results don't immediately verify the vision. Dieter F. Uchtdorf has said 'Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.' I completely agree with his statement.  The vision is going to have to be imagined often in the times of resistance (at least that how it is for me) because I know I would want to give up all to easy with that resistance.

'...Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things' therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen which are true.' Alma 32:21

These laws come from the book 'The Conscious Creator' and from a three day 'Limitless' Seminar I went to. they are powerful and work, and they work great hand in hand with The Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and any Christian religion. I would highly encourage you to go to a 'Limitless' Seminar and I can help get you there if you are interested!

The Law of Alignment Continued

If you haven't read about the first four Laws of Conscious Creation I would highly recommend reading them before you read this post because this post won't make a ton of sense without them.
The Law of Attraction
The Law of Purpose
The Law of Choice and Accountability

The Law of Alignment

And this is a continuation of the Law of Alignment:
Yesterday I introduced the fourth law of Conscious Creation, The Law of Alignment which states: "Everything we think, say and do must be in alignment with what we want to manifest. When our beliefs and actions are out of alignment with truth, it creates pain and problems in our lives. The more closely our beliefs are aligned with truth, the greater power we have to manifest our creations with ease. (Limitless Booklet)"

In the last post we talked about cognitive dissonance and ways we could be out of alignment with our true selves.  Belief Breakthrough a process that takes false beliefs and replaces it with new beliefs. It is reparadigming our thoughts. "A paradigm is a set of beliefs, or a certain perception of the world and your place in it. Your paradigm determines your actions. The sum total of all your false and limiting beliefs drastically impacts your paradigm. And you must 'reparadigm' to align with your vision of your True Self and True Purpose. Reparadigming is the process of consciously selecting beliefs that support what you want to manifest. It's a lifelong search-and- destroy mission; you systematically uproot all the falsehoods that are sabotaging your results. (The Conscious Creator)" We have to change our paradigm to work for us. There are three R's in the Belief Breakthrough process. Recognize, Replace, and Reinforce. The first R, Recognize, we have talked about some with cognitive dissonance and finding areas in our life where we are in conflict with our self.

An analogy in book 'The Conscious Creator' is as follows: "False, limiting, negative, contradictory beliefs are like weeds in the garden of your thoughts. If allowed to grow, they choke out the good seeds and stifle the plants that would bear the fruits of your creation. You have to be a protective gardener to uproot the weeds and cultivate your true, empowering, positive, and aligned thoughts and beliefs." The scriptures frequently give reference to a seed. Alma 32 is one of my favorite chapters about seeds and the garden. Verse 28 says '... Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, It will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves- It must needs be that this is a good seed... for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.
This basic and general process of  of seeds can be applied in our lives metaphorically. Good seeds bring forth good fruit and bad seeds bring forth bad fruit. What kind of “seeds” are you planting? Are you planting seeds of service, love, patience, humility, kindness, loving, and helping? Are they making you happy? Do those seeds bring joy to you? Do they feel light, because literally truth feels lighter and brighter?

Suppose someone told you that you are ugly, and worthless, you will never amount to anything, you aren’t in control, you can’t manage, you can't do it, you aren’t a good mother or father, son or daughter. What if those "seeds" weren’t coming from someone else but from ourselves? What if those were our own thoughts about our self? Satan is the master of these lies that weigh us down, make us feel worthless and limited in all we do. Don’t allow Satan to plant these types of seeds in your minds and your beliefs. You are worth so much more. You are a child of God, you are worth His love, you are beautiful, handsome, loving and kind, and you know the best way to help and serve those in your  circles. You have control. You have time to plant good seeds. You can read your scriptures. You can pray. You have time to dedicate to God in your life. You can serve. He has blessed you with all you have. He can ease any burden, as He did in the lives of Alma and his people did when they were severely persecuted by Amulon (Mosiah 24).

This belief breakthrough process can help us live the incredible life we have dreamed of living! We have talked about the first R, Recognize. The next step is replacement. Once you recognize these 'weeds' what needs to be done is to replace it with a 'belief-replacement manifesto' which is a declaration of intention, opinions, objective, or motives (The Conscious Creator). The following are some of the top limiting beliefs (they come from The Conscious Creator Journal that you can download with the book):

I can't do it.
I'm not worthy.
I'm too old.
I'm too young.
My body can't do that.
I don't know enough.
I'm not special.
No one loves me.
No one listens to me.
No one cares about me.
I can't change.
Change is hard.
I'm scared.
That's not in my nature.
I'm not good enough.
I'm stupid.
I'm too fat.
There is too much risk.
It'll take too long.
It'll cause family drama.
I do't deserve it.
I can't afford it.
No one will help me.
It's never been done before.
I'm not strong enough.
I don't have the energy.
I don't know how to do it.
I'm too busy.

Do any of these limiting belief's resonate with anyone else? A lot of them sure did with me. The thing is to recognize when we are telling ourselves these derogatory things and change it! Replace it with a 'Belief-Replacement Manifesto' here are how we replace those thoughts. You can make up your own phrases that work for you but here are a couple that I came up with. I didn't fill them all in so that you could practice :)

I can't do it.                 I can do anything I desire.
I'm not worthy.          I am worthy
I'm too young.           I am just the right age do fulfill my dreams.
I don't know enough. I know all I need for this present moment and I continue to learn.
I'm not special.               I am special and uniquely me.
No one cares about me.  I love me and God loves me!
I can't change.                    I embrace change and adjust my course as needed.
Change is hard.                  Change is EASY!
I'm scared.                          I choose to have faith.
That's not in my nature.  I stand boldly in my purpose.
I'm too fat.                          My spirit governs my body.
There is too much risk.   _______________________

Are there more limiting beliefs then the ones that I listed? Yes there are, but we can work on our limiting beliefs one belief at a time. That is part of the beauty of it, is the simplicity. We just have to take these limiting beliefs and replace them with limitless beliefs and  we only have to tackle one at a time. Part of the way we do that is by having positive manifestos that do NOT include negatives like 'not, don't, never, won't , and no'. For example a limiting belief may be 'I'm fat', it wouldn't be as beneficial to say 'I'm not fat' because the of the negative connotation (They really do a much better job of explaining this a limitless so bear with me...) a much better way to put it would be: 'My body supports my purpose and choices'. In short the Manifestos  just need to be positive and uplifting avoiding negatives. Truth is light, happy, and enlightening.
Belief Break through is not a one time, event it takes constant work and effort to become a Conscious Creator. But we can choose to do it (The Law of Choice and Accountability) There was a quote given at Limitless that I really liked. I don't remember who it was by, but it said 'Some people tell me motivation doesn't last, well neither does bathing but you still need to do it frequently.' Little steps over a long period of time has potential to change a lot of lives. Find a reoccurring limiting belief and start replacing it with your new belief. If you want to read about some of my belief manifestos click HERE
So one you have replaced your limiting belief you have to Reinforce it. The Conscious creator suggests to repeat your new manifestos three times a day out loud, for thirty days (I also try and do it when ever my limiting beliefs enter my thoughts) and the new beliefs will start crowding out the old (The Law of Attraction describes this phenomenon.
Are you seeing how all of these laws work together? It really is quite fascinating) While this is the suggestion: three times a day for 30 days, it is easier to think of it in the following analogy: "Think of your beliefs as deep ruts in a dirt road. Ruts are created over the years as thousands of cars drive over the same roads. It rains and the roads get muddy, and the ruts get even deeper. Thoughts, beliefs, and habits are no different. The longer and deeper we've held a belief, the harder it is to break it. You have to choose a different track to drive on-- you have to create a new path for your thoughts to travel. It can be extremely hard to get out of the deep grooves. But these methods, if applied consistently, will do it for you. At first it will seem just kind of technical, like you're just going through the motions, but over time you'll really experience belief breakthroughs. It will start clicking for you. Negative thought will still arise, but instead of caving in to them, you'll start laughing at them and immediately repeating a manifesto.(The Conscious Creator)

As always I would love to hear your thoughts and if you are interested in a life changing three days you need to go to a Limitless event and I would love to help you get there. I am living a more divine life incorporating the things I learned while there and it is spiritually satisfying.

The Law of Alignment

We are now to the fourth law of Conscious Creation, The Law of Alignment which states: "Everything we think, say and do must be in alignment with what we want to manifest. When our beliefs and actions are out of alignment with truth, it creates pain and problems in our lives. The more closely our beliefs are aligned with truth, the greater power we have to manifest our creations with ease. (Limitless Booklet)"

Have you ever heard of 'cognitive dissonance' before? If you are like I was, you probably have no idea what that means. It means: "anxiety that results from simultaneously holding contradictory or otherwise incompatible attitudes, beliefs, or the like (dictionary.com)." In a simpler term it is the feeling of discomfort from holding two conflicting beliefs. When we have conflicting beliefs we feel that we have to change something to eliminate the dissonance. For example (these next examples come from The Conscious Creator book) "Suppose a person is torn by the desire to smoke and the fact that smoking is unhealthy. To eliminate the cognitive dissonance, he would have to align one with the other. In other words, either he'd have to tame his desire to smoke, and align that desire with his desire to be healthy, or he'd have to align his health beliefs with his desire to smoke by convincing himself that he can beat the odds or the smoking will be worth the cost." After reading that I immediately thought of places in my life where cognitive dissonance lives. I want to eat healthy but I like sweets. I want clear skin but I pick at it. I want to be patient but let little things bother me. Here are some more examples in The Conscious Creator that I want to reference, maybe you recognize some cognitive dissonance in your life too. "People say they want world peace, and then they get angry when they get cut off on the highway. Submitting to that anger gives their power away, because it's not aligned with their desire for peace. They say they want more money and prosperity, but then they envy and criticize their prosperous neighbors. they hold conflicting beliefs: On one hand, they think money is the root of all evil, but on the other hand they want more of it. They say they really want to read and learn more, then they spend all their spare time watching TV and lurking on Facebook. They say they want a healthy marriage, then they secretly indulge in pornography, their actions don't back up their supposed desire. What these people really mean is that they want their desires to materialize with minimal effort. They're not willing to pay the price. (The Conscious Creator)" The last line really hit me because I clearly haven't been willing to pay the price for the desires I want, and it has caused me to be out of alignment with myself. I have been annoying myself with my own actions. In order to align I am going to have to change my actions. I'll be honest, at times it feels daunting, never ending and VERY difficult to over come my natural desires to give in to habits that I have had for years. I can't do it all at once and I can't do it all by myself, but it can be done. I am working "to choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong (Thomas S. Monson, Choices)."

The Law of Purpose comes before the Law of Alignment for a reason. We can not align ourselves if we don't have a purpose or vision of who we are or who we want to become, otherwise we'd be wandering with no destination (Similar to Alice asking the Cheshire cat which way to go. Since Alice didn't have a destination, it didn't matter much where she went). What is your purpose and vision? And how can you begin aligning? I need to work on solidifying my purpose and vision for myself so that I can become more aligned. I have to decide that I really want my purpose and vision and that I really want to fulfill it, only when I really commit will true alignment happen.

I have been reading a book by Gordon B. Hinckley called 'Standing for Something' (I highly recommend it!) In it he remembers a quote that his father used to tell him 'Cynics do not contribute, skeptics do not create, doubters do not achieve.' Further on Gordon B. Hinckley says 'We are creatures of our thinking. We can talk ourselves into defeat, or we can talk ourselves into victory.' It all takes work and conscious effort but we can overcome the areas of cognitive dissonance in our lives. 'Now ye may suppose that it is foolishness in me, but behold, I say unto you, that by small and simple means are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise." Alma 37:6
